Writer Wows Crowd at Pride Factory
McDonough’s Racy Story, ‘Act of Contrition,’ Wins Praise
by Mary Damiano

Local writer Jim McDonough enthralled the erotica aficionados who gathered at the Pride Factory Saturday, May 17, when he read his controversial short story about a former altar boy who trysts with a priest inside a confessional.

The story, “Act of Contrition,” is included in the new anthology Saints & Sinners, available only at The Pride Factory.

In addition to “Act of Contrition,” McDonough read “Waiting for the Ball to Drop,” which he adapted for a short film now in production in California, and “The Other Side of Me,” which will be featured in the anthology Men Amplified, scheduled for release in early fall.

After the reading, McDonough answered questions from the audience and told of his experiences at a recent literary conference in New Orleans for gay and lesbian writers. He then signed copies of his book for patrons.

McDonough is the owner and webmaster of QueerWriters.com, a resource for gay and lesbian writers. He is an internationally published author of over 60 erotic stories.
